FAQs
Do I have to be an ATRS practitioner to attend?
No! Certainly not. We welcome people of all faiths and walks of life. However, if your views are very negative towards ATRS and African spirituality, this will not be the ideal trip for you (and vice versa).
I would like to stay in a double room, but don’t have a roommate. Can I still come?
If you are an active member of the ATRS BOOK CLUB, you can register without a roommate and still book a double occupancy room. If you are NOT a member of the ATRS BOOK CLUB, only single accommodations are available.
Will we have the opportunity to experience Candomble ceremonies or terrieros?
Yes. We will visit a few of Brasil’s most respected terreiros and meet with Iyalorixas and other matriarchal religious leaders of Candomble. Attendance at ceremonies will be based on the general experience of the group with ATRS.
Can I come for a portion of the trip?
We are only interested in people who can attend the entire time as opposed to only a segment of the trip. This enhances the group dynamic and experiences.
Are flights included?
Flights to and from Brasil are not included. You are responsible for booking your own flights to Rio. And a return flight from Bahia. However, your in-country flight (from Rio to Bahia) is included.
What happens if I have cancel my trip?
